Why Free Falling?
On the afternoon of November 24. 1971. a nondescript man calling himself Dan Cooper boarded a flight out of Portland. Oregon. Shortly after 3pm he handed a note to one of the stewardesses. letting her know that he had a bomb in his briefcase. When the flight landed in Seattle. the 36 passengers were exchanged for the four parachutes and $200.000 ransom Cooper was demanding. The plane took off again. bound for Mexico City. But somewhere between Seattle and Reno. Cooper parachuted out the back of the plane. disappearing forever. It remains the only unsolved skyjacking case in US history.
